Council President John Errigo Seeks Community Feedback on Potential Fieldsboro Recreation & Community Center
Fieldsboro, NJ – Council President and mayoral candidate Dr. John J. Errigo III is inviting residents to share their thoughts on the possibility of creating an indoor recreation or community center in Fieldsboro. The proposed facility would be funded through grants and private donors, ensuring it would be a tax-free gift to the community.
“This idea came from conversations with residents who want more spaces for families, seniors, and neighbors to connect,” said Errigo. “I believe in listening first, so before anything moves forward, I want to hear directly from the people this would serve.”
Errigo is asking residents to weigh in on three key questions:
Community members are encouraged to provide feedback on social media or directly below the link on John Errigo for mayor campaign page or John’s email errigoformayor@gmail.com.
“This isn’t just about a building, it’s about strengthening our community,” Errigo added. “The more input we receive, the better we can shape something that truly reflects Fieldsboro’s needs and values.”

Fieldsboro, NJ – Council President John Errigo Calls for Unity and Solutions in Final Months of Mayoral Campaign
Fieldsboro, NJ – Council President and mayoral candidate Dr. John J. Errigo III is calling for Fieldsboro to “turn the page” and focus on solutions as the community heads into the final months before the November election.
Reflecting on the campaign so far, Errigo acknowledged the challenges of recent weeks:
“These past six weeks have been some of the hardest of this campaign. The infighting and political games pushed by the old guard mindset have been discouraging, and at times, it’s left me disappointed. There are a few voices on Council who still give me hope, but I’ve also seen others slip further into division, and that has been painful to witness.”
Errigo spoke about a recent moment that reminded him of the kind of future he envisions for Fieldsboro.
“Recently, at a wedding, I looked around the room and saw joy on everyone’s faces. It reminded me of the spirit I want to see more of in Fieldsboro, neighbors proud of their community, connected with one another, and looking toward the future with hope. Too often lately, that joy has been harder to find here in our town.”
He emphasized that his decision to live in Fieldsboro is rooted in deep belief in the community.
“My husband and I didn’t buy our home in Fieldsboro to walk away when things get tough. We chose to invest our lives here because we believe in the goodness of Fieldsboro, and I still believe in it deeply. Over the past year, I’ve worked hard to expose the problems that needed to be brought into the light, because residents deserve the truth. But as we move into the final months before November, I want to turn the page toward something bigger: solutions.”
Errigo outlined his vision for a better Fieldsboro:
“This campaign hasn’t been easy, but I won’t back down,” Errigo said. “Fieldsboro deserves joy again, and together, we can bring it back. Let’s move forward together.”

Fieldsboro, NJ — Council President Dr. John Errigo Requests State Review of Fieldsboro’s Financial Practices
Fieldsboro Council President Dr. John J. Errigo III has formally requested that the New Jersey Division of Local Government Services review whether the Borough’s financial practices meet state requirements.
Recent communications revealed that an outside consultant billed through the Borough’s audit firm has been preparing key financial documents, while the CFO’s role has largely been limited to signing them. That same firm is then responsible for auditing its own work.
“This arrangement raises serious concerns about independence and compliance under New Jersey law,” Dr. Errigo said. “Residents deserve confidence that their tax dollars are being managed with proper oversight. I am asking the State to review this practice and provide corrective guidance if necessary.”
Dr. Errigo emphasized that transparency and accountability remain his top priorities: “Our residents deserve accountability, compliance, and transparency. That is why I will continue to take action, not just talk about it.”
I’ll keep pushing until Fieldsboro is not just barely functioning, but thriving!

“Errigo Raises Red Flags About Rubber-Stamp Practices in Borough Hall“
Fieldsboro, NJ – John Errigo, Fieldsboro Council President, and Democratic nominee for Mayor, is raising red flags about what he calls a “culture of rubber-stamp politics” in Borough Hall and underscored the urgent need for stronger oversight and accountability.
“In my 20 year career as an Operations Manager with a Ph.D. in Business, I’ve built a proven record of designing systems that work, strengthening financial controls, and ensuring organizations operate efficiently and transparently,” said Errigo. “I bring years of hands-on leadership experience overseeing operations, budgets, and teams, skills that translate directly to modernizing Borough Hall. That’s not theory. It’s results.”
Errigo emphasized the importance of independent oversight, noting that while professionals provide valuable advice, elected officials have a responsibility to question, scrutinize, and ensure every decision serves the public interest.
“Oversight isn’t optional, it’s required,” Errigo continued. “Real leadership means asking tough questions, holding everyone accountable, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are protected. But the old guard doesn’t operate that way. For years, Borough Hall hasn’t had real checks and balances, just rubber-stamping whatever they’re told. That’s not oversight. That’s complacency.”
Errigo warned that efforts to bring modern systems and safeguards have repeatedly been blocked by a predictable pattern of resistance, delay, and, more recently, outright condescension.
“This isn’t leadership, it’s obstruction. And it’s a distraction from the real issue: a total lack of accountability,” he said.
Errigo’s campaign platform focuses on ending rubber-stamp politics and delivering the transparency and efficiency Fieldsboro residents deserve.
“November 4 isn’t about titles or politics, it’s about results,” Errigo concluded. “Fieldsboro needs leaders who will do the work—not just protect the status quo.”

Official Statement from June 10, 2025, Primary Win: Thank You, Fieldsboro!
I am incredibly honored and deeply grateful to share that I have won the Democratic primary for Mayor of Fieldsboro.
This victory was not handed to us, it was earned through months of conversations, door knocks, community engagement, and listening to your concerns. Every vote cast was a voice for change, and I will carry that responsibility with humility and strength.
While this election shows we are a town with differing views, I believe we are not divided in spirit. We all care about the future of our community. My goal is to bridge those divides and be a mayor for everyone if I am elected in November, whether you voted for me, for my opponent, or chose not to vote at all.
Now, Let’s move forward, together. Let’s build a Fieldsboro where everyone feels included, heard, and respected. This is just the beginning, and I’m ready to continue showing up for you, every step of the way. I look forward to earning your vote for November 4, 2025.

“Fieldsboro Deserves Transparency — Not Confusion”
Fieldsboro, NJ — June 3, 2025 — “For months, I’ve emphasized the importance of transparency and the need to move beyond politics as usual in Fieldsboro. Recently, residents received a borough-wide mailing titled a ‘Mayor’s Update,’ highlighting accomplishments of the current administration. It was distributed under the official borough seal, bundled with required public notices, and mailed at public expense—just ten days before the June 10 primary election.
While keeping residents informed is important, the timing and presentation of this mailing raise reasonable concerns about the appropriate use of taxpayer resources in the context of an election.
This moment reflects exactly why I’m running: to ensure that communication from local government is clear, fair, and never gives even the appearance of impropriety. Fieldsboro deserves leadership that puts residents first—not politics.

Fieldsboro, NJ – John Errigo, Council President and current mayoral candidate for the Borough of Fieldsboro, proudly announces his endorsement of Steven Fulop in the race for Governor of New Jersey.
“I had the opportunity to meet Steven Fulop in person and ask him a direct question about how he plans to work with mayors across our state,” said Errigo. “His thoughtful response made it clear—he understands the unique challenges local leaders face, and he is committed to strengthening our towns through collaboration and support.”

Candidate for Mayor of Fieldsboro Censored in Local Facebook Group
FIELDSBORO, NJ — John Errigo, current Council President of Fieldsboro Borough and Democratic candidate for Mayor, has spoken out after supporters were blocked from posting in the widely followed “Fieldsboro Friends” Facebook group. Errigo alleges the censorship was politically motivated.
“This is not just about me — it’s about every resident’s right to be informed and engaged in the democratic process,” said Errigo. “Silencing a campaign in the middle of a local election undermines transparency, accountability, and the values this town was built on.”
Errigo’s supporters attempted to share updates about his campaign, community concerns, and plans for a more inclusive and responsive local government when this one supporters access to the group was suddenly revoked and all of their posts deleted. The “Fieldsboro Friends” page serves as a popular forum for local events, discussions, and updates — especially during the election season.
“I’m running on a platform of openness and respect for all residents,” Errigo added. “If political opponents feel threatened by an honest conversation, that only proves why change is needed.”
Errigo’s campaign — running under the slogan “Residents First” — has emphasized better communication, fiscal transparency, and ensuring that community voices are not only heard but valued.
The primary election for Mayor will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

Dr. John Errigo Attends Key Political Event, Discusses Local Funding Priorities with Gubernatorial Candidate Steve Fulop
Fieldsboro, NJ — May 4, 2025 — Dr. John Errigo, Democratic candidate for Mayor of Fieldsboro, attended his first major political event of the 2025 campaign season this weekend, joining leaders and candidates from across New Jersey. Errigo, who has been a twice-elected Council Member and current Council President in Fieldsboro, used the opportunity to introduce his mayoral campaign to state and local officials while advocating for increased state support for small municipalities.
During the event, Errigo met several prominent leaders including Eric Holliday, Mayor of Bordentown Township, and took the opportunity to engage with Steve Fulop, Mayor of Jersey City and Democratic candidate for Governor of New Jersey, along with Fulop’s running mate, Sheena Collum. Errigo also met with both Democratic Assembly candidates for 2 local districts, Eric Holliday for (District 7) and Eddie Freeman for (District 8).
“I had a great discussion with Governor candidate Steve Fulop about the critical need for state funding to better support small towns like Fieldsboro,” said Errigo. “Most of our local tax dollars don’t stay within the municipality, and our residents deserve better reinvestment. Steve listened thoughtfully and offered strong ideas for bridging this funding gap, which reinforced my confidence in his candidacy.”
Errigo praised the leadership and innovative ideas he heard from Fulop, Collum, and the district’s Assembly candidates. “We need new energy and fresh solutions at every level of government. I’m excited to support leaders like Steve Fulop, Eric Holliday, and Eddie Freeman as they work toward positive change for New Jersey residents.”
Errigo also expressed gratitude to Mayor Eric Holliday for the invitation and the chance to build new connections with those working to improve communities throughout Burlington County and beyond.
As Mayor of Fieldsboro, I’ll fight to ensure our town gets its fair share of resources and that residents’ voices are heard, not just in local government but all the way to Trenton,” Errigo added.
