Plan to Building a Transparent and Connected Residents First in Fieldsboro

A key part of my vision for Fieldsboro is building a government that communicates openly, consistently, and directly with the people we serve.

Earlier this week, while I was explaining how things currently operate in Fieldsboro, a friend remarked, “It sounds like your local government is run like an HOA.” The more I thought about it, the more I realized how accurate that comparison is. In many homeowners associations, decisions are often made by a small group of individuals—behind closed doors, with little input from the community.

Sadly, that’s an honest reflection of how this borough has operated for the past 14 years. That needs to change.

As mayor, I will make open communication a priority by implementing the following:

  • Quarterly Email Newsletters: Summarizing town updates, grant activity, infrastructure progress, and upcoming events.
  • Biannual Spending Summaries: Easy-to-understand breakdowns of how taxpayer dollars are being used, distributed at least twice a year.
  • Public Forum Meetings: Scheduled town halls where residents can directly engage with leadership, ask questions, and provide input.
  • Communications Committee: A standing committee within Borough Council to oversee transparency, public information, and resident outreach.
  • Postcard Notifications: Physical mailers sent to Fieldsboro households about major proposals, community meetings, and local elections.

These are simple, effective steps to ensure every resident feels included and informed—not just during campaign season, but year-round.

This borough doesn’t belong to a few—it belongs to all of us. And you deserve to be informed, heard, and involved every step of the way
